View Full Version : Joined the Sig club!
I sold my Glock 23 with intentions of going to a Glock 19, but when I got to the gun store my plans changed. I started checking out the P229r and ended up coming home with the Sig. I cleaned it up and took it to the range today and fell further in love. If I had known how great these Sigs were, I would have owned one before now.
I will be CCWing the Sig now (also picked up a MTAC holster for it.) I still love the Glock, so I am going to pick up a 4th gen 17 and throw a streamlight on it for my nightstand gun.

Congratulations on your first Sig!
I love the three Sigs That I have, P226, P229, and a P239.
I find my G23 much easier to carry though, because of its lighter weight.
Congrats on a great pistol. :)

I have several choices in my carry rotation and one is a Sig 229nr. Like it a lot but often grab the G23 instead cuz it is lighter. The Sig is much more accurate for me tho

I have the sig 226,40s&w/357sig & the 220,combat 45acp & a p6 in 9mm.They are great guns are they not? Now you just need to try the CZ's like the cz-75.

I carry a 229 most of the time, congrats.
I love my 229 but like some others I too usually carry my G23 because of the weight difference.

I've carried the 229 daily since the purchase and haven't had any issues with the weight. The set up I use is only slightly different than the one I used with my 23. With the Glock: leather belt, mtac, and a nylon mag pouch. With the Sig: Wilderness instructor CSM, mtac, and wilderness horizontal mag carrier. I suppose that the Glock would have done better with the wilderness belt, but I didn't learn of them until researching this forum. Either way, I have encountered no issues with carrying the Sig.

My dept has carried the 229 for at least 11 years now. No problems. They are great guns. Enjoy.
