I'm thinking of getting a .22 WMR rifle. Hopefully one that is reliable, accurate, and doesn't break the bank. I'm a semi-auto kind of guy,so I've been looking at both the Remington 597 and the Marlin 922M.

I think I would rather have one with a synthetic stock, so I'm sort of leaning towards the 597 because Marlin doesn't make one like that.(I don't think so anyway)

Anyone have any experience with either or both of these guns ? Thanks.

Marlin 983T

I prefer wood stocks, and tube mags in a .22/.22 Mag bolt action gun.

:wow: Nice gun.

Do you know if they make a .22 WMR semi-auto with a tube magazine ?

It is very difficult to make a semi-auto .22 Magnum. Long, thin walled cartridge that is susceptible to jamming/crushing. It has been done, but only in a couple pistols (AMT Automag II, and Kel-Tec PMR-30). Ruger made a 10/22 version for a couple years, and then discontinued it. You can still find them used for $700-$900!

You are going to have to settle for a bolt or lever gun

Ha! I just purchased a H&R model 700 (.22 WMR semi auto) from a private collector for 200 bucks- and it's in 90% condition!

Ran 40 rounds through it today with only ONE FTE using CCI Maxi-mags.

They're out there...............

I'll second the 452 Lux. Most accurate rifle I've ever owned.
