is this a great gaming laptop?

i am tired of using desktop. so wanna move on to a decent gaming laptop.(less than 1500 bucks)it is so hard to find. i don't like apple. someone suggest me to go with Alienware M17x (http://www.dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?type=id&q=d162471&ru=289211). it is said to be great to play games. is it worth 1200bucks? plz give me some suggestions.

This is supposed to be THE gaming laptop. I have no personal experience, but the reviews Ive read are great.

I'd say its definitely sufficient to play any of today's games.
