Yesterday evening a friend and I went out to a local indoor range with a cool idea. Rented the select fire Glock 18 and tried out some full auto fun. After a couple off strings of fire with 5 rounds in the magazine to get the feel of it, Then it was time to let it go. I don't think anything eats ammo as fast as this thing but if you start with a really stiff grip it is really controlable. Yes, we tore up some targets and had lots of Fun. Awesome.

The only G18 I ever saw for "Rent" was at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot..
$50 for 33rd = 2 seconds..
I'd like to know "WERE" in SC can you rent a G18 & be able to shoot it..

Sounds Cool..

Well, I am willing to bet they have the ID of the renter.

Switch it with what? The G17 slides won't fit on the G18 frames and the G18 slides won't fit on the G17 frames.

Cool. Id pay $50 to use one for 30 minutes, one mag though....probably not.

I held one at a gun show but wouldn't rent one because the money spent on ammo for 30 mins would buy another glock.

I think it would be very cool to try one.

I suppose they do things a bit differently in South Carolina.. Been to alot of ranges around Florida and never ran across one that rents out Fully automatic weapons.

I blew through 60 rounds in a MP5K in a minute and a half. Best $50 I spent in vegas. I went to the Vegas firearms center off of the strip. Heck of a little blaster that H&K is.

The range I shoot at is also a fully-stocked sales, repair and rental shop....
You can rent a Thompson SMG/Uzi/G18, etc.......
Drawbacks? The owner or his associate STAY WITH YOU ON THE FIRING LINE AT ALL TIMES when shooting full auto...and.....it's very pricey - on the order of $45/hr PLUS ammo (THEIRS - NOT YOURS!!!)
I guess it'd be fun to TRY this once.....but I sure can't see wanting to OWN a full auto -- and keep it "fed"!!
To each his own....:whistling:

The owning is easy, feeding is the problem.

We have a couple ranges around Utah that rent full auto weapons. One is a pistol range so they have an mp5 and p90. Other is a rifle range and they have a ton of options.

how come you're allowed to rent it?

One of the indoor ranges here in Houston rents the Glock 18 for $35.00 iirc, with no time limit specified.

.....................but you're still responsible for the $15/hr range fee and you must only use their ammo which is almost $25/box of 50.

OT, but do you have any experience with their gunsmith? I was wanting to have some sights installed on my XD and G19 but don't want some jack-leg messing with them. I've only been there to use the range once so I don't know much about them. Range part is great though :)

Knights shooting sports in clearwater rents full auto M16's and MP5's for $50/hr.

Many Full Auto ranges rent post samples for range firing. It's not considered an actual transfer which is how I assume it's allowed. DFW in Texas rents post samples as does the Las Vegas range which was previously mentioned. The registered conversion switch is also a post sample but functions on a G17 and several others without having to go the factory G18 route. Much cheaper also!

Hehe, yep. It's actually a G34 with the selector switch on the back of the cover plate. Only $25 to rent that one, if I remember correctly...

I may do it next time I go...

Jay's Guns in both Baker and Panama City rent FA, SBRs and cans.

If I remember correctly , Jim's guns in Fayetteville did but that's been 8 years ago.

Referring to Fayetteville, NC I assume? I dont think Jim's has ever dealt in Title II stuff, but they do let you rent out pistols. Guns Plus in Spring Lake is a Title II dealer, though.
