Well I finally ordered my first 1911. While joining the 1911 family I also joined the Bac made me do it family :wavey:. I placed my order today with Dawson Precision for an STI Trojan in .45 ACP with their enhancement package. I am having them tune the trigger to 3.5# which is what they recommended. I can't wait to get it, they said it should be about two weeks.

Here the obligatory pic until I get my mits on the real one :embarassed:

I can always reload if it gets too expensive or pick a .22 conversion kit. I did think about getting the Trojan in .40 S&W for about two minutes but I knew in the end that I'd regret it.

That is one great looking pistol :wavey:

I really hope so. I wasn't EXACTLY sure what pull weight to go with so they recommended 3.5# which sounded like a great weight for a range gun.

For those that know, Would 3.5# be too light for a nightstand gun? Also will the trigger job limit me to a certain class in IPSC, USPSA, or IDPA competitions?

I don't think so.

Just get used to it. :)

I've become quite fond of Checkmate over the last couple of years. I have several Wilson 47Ds and they work great but the springs don't last quite as long when left fully loaded. Great choice with the Trojan, I don't think you could have chosen a better 1911 in that price range.
