I carry a 5" 1911 in and IWB 90% of the time. I switch between a couple different pistols and holsters depending on the type of pants I am wearing and what the belt loop arrangement is. More often than not, I am wearing my Wilson Ultralight Carry (.45) in a Bulman TSA-HP. It is the most comfortable carry setup I have and conceals perfect under a t-shirt or polo shirt.

I carry a 5" steel framed 1911 every single day. I carry it in a Galco concealable OWB holster during the cooler months, and have really been loving my new Milt Sparks Summer Special II lately for the warmer part of the year. The Galco hides is fine under a polo or button down shirt. I can hide it even deeper with just a t-shirt with the IWB setup.

A well made holster and gun belt is key and can make even the heaviest guns a breeze to carry. :wavey:

I carry a full framed 1911 with a 4" barrel. :)

It doesn't look quite as nice anymore.

Hey Bac...what rig do you use to carry that Kimber? I am really diggin' my SSII right now. Well worth the money IMHO.

I carry a five-inch 1911 for twelve to fourteen hours per day; there are some days where I have to carry a five-inch 1911 and a CCO. Thank goodness the CCO has an alloy frame with a steel frame insert. I rotate between two Sparks HR-LTDs and two VM-2s for the 1911s. I find it is best to let a leather holster dry for a day after carry for both the holster and the gun, especially after being caught out in the rain. The HR-LTD is my favorite holster as it combines the comfort and concealment of the VM-2 with a moisture liner from the Heritage.

G17 or G21SF or Norinco 1911A1 are my normal daily carry guns - all fit in a LAW concealment holster

My other smaller frame pistols also fit into this holster. One holster fits all of my handguns!!

I carried a 5" stainless Kimber for almost 5 years, and have been carrying a 5" blued Les Baer Premier II while my 5" stainless Ed Brown is being built. I'm not a big guy, but a good belt and good holster make hiding a full sized 1911 pretty easy. I did try carrying a bobtailed 4.25" Les Baer for a while, but it didn't conceal much better and I didn't shoot it as well as my 5" guns. I switched back to 5" 1911's after a couple months.

I usually carry with a leather Dillon gunbelt, and in a Galco Summer Comfort holster.
