View Full Version : Who's got a CZ 452?

I just ordered a CZ 452 Scout (should arrive on Monday). Tell me what you guys think of yours. What are the best loads for it?

My brother has one but he says that stingers don't work well in it. Is this the case for anyone else?

i have one. mine has a pretty tight chamber compared to most. so it shoots match loads really, really well. most of them like wolf match target, remington target, ect. stingers are too long. thats probably why it didnt like them. just get a bunch of stuff and play around with it. wolf is a pretty standard load for good results out of a CZ.

My Scout does well with everything I've tried, but I never buy Stingers. It's less picky than my 10-22 as far as accuracy goes.
CCI Mini Mags and Standard Velocity are your best bets.
Quality in, quality out.
ETA, Velocitors kick but in my Scout.

The CZ 452 is too good not to shoot SK Standard+ or Wolf MT in it. ....if you're up to the task of getting that kind of accuracy out of it.

Set a Stinger next to ANY other LR cartridge:
There's a difference.

I got the FS and my 11 yoa has the Scout. They are the most accurate out of the box .22's you can get. I can shoot dime groups at 25 yards with Walmart 550 Federal bulk with the FS.

I have/had a few and like them. They seem to be well worth the money. Any good target ammo will work well with them it seems.

Yes, I know, longer case.

My CZ 452 American shot well with everything.

CCI Standard Velocity
CCI 36gr Mini Mag
Wolf MT
Federal 550

roughly in that order. Hopefully I get to shoot this weekend.

Full stock model, cool. It has the good sights like the Lux. The Scout has decent sights, but not as nice as the tangent sights on the Lux and FS.

CZ452s are awesome! Congrats! I am extremely happy with mine.

I would gather together some middle-of-the road ammo and see which does best. You might be surprised. I have found that my CZ452 does not much care whether its ammo costs $2.00 a box or $6.00 a box

Federal American Eagle
My CZ shoots this very well $20/500 at Palmettostatearmory.com. This would be a good ammo to stock up on.

also from Palmetto (outta stock right now) see target pics

Aguila Golden Eagle Match Rifle

CCi Blazers

All of these will give excellent results. I stay away from bulk packs with the CZ because there are always fliers which annoy me. I do not find the extra cost of Wolf or SKS to be justified (or other really high end match ammo). At 25 yards I might see a tiny improvement, but at 75yards they are actually not as accurate as the cheaper ones I've mentioned, perhaps due to their slower speed.

These are pretty small groups using $2.50 a box ammo

Nestor, do keep in mind that your CZ is not likely to look as beautiful as the one pictured. My stock was so ugly that I decided to paint it. But it is still one of my very favorite rifles.

Very nice. I would love one of those but the Scout that I am buying is really for helping to teach my children basic firearm safety, training, and marksmanship in their younger years.

That's not to say that I won't enjoy it myself though. :)

I love my CZ-452, its one heck of a shooter! I shoot all kinds of standard and high velocity ammo with fairly similar results, dime to quarter sized groups at 50yds. I do not shoot any hyper velocity rimfire ammo.

The best group I've ever shot with my 452 Silhouette was with Remington Subsonics.
Wolf works good but to a different point of aim.
CCI Standard Velocity 40gr works wells too along with Aguila Match Rifle.
Federal AE high velocity stuff is good too if you want high velocity.
The Winchester Dynapoints were good and affordable but now they are hard to find and i'm not sure on the pricing . . .

That is with a bone stock 452 with CZ rings and Bushnell from walmart.
I have other targets but most are spoiled due to flyers :(

I really like my CZ452s - a Varmint and an American. Not only do they look nice but they shoot well too. Of course, I also got them in a cool caliber - .17 HM2.

Try the Ultra Lux for fun, mine has a Brooks trigger and Tech Sights, the barrel is 28". However, I had a Mannlicher that was nice also.

I took my scout out the other day to try it out (my oldest son was out of town with my wife otherwise I'd have taken him too). It sure seemed to love the bulk pack stuff just as well as anything.

I think I am gonna be more than pleased with this rifle. Even better, I think my sons are going to really enjoy it as they start out with guns. Man, I wish my dad was as cool as I am. :)

Here is a pic of my younger bro shooting it.

love my 452:supergrin:

452 Lux for me. I've not found it picky with ammo but stick with Wolf Match Target or Remington subsonics from habit. Wonderful rifle.

I currently own two 452's and a 453. I shoot the bulk stuff most of the time and at fifty yards, you can cover a five shot group with a dime.

Latest addition to the family, SWR Spectre.

I have the 452 trainer and the varmint, both in .22LR. Both are superbly accurate guns---excellent rifles for the money.

My new CZ 452 Varmint in 22LR was initially sighted in with Federal 36gr bulk and it shot one hole groups at 25m. Switched to Winchester Bushman 37.5gr and it still grouped well but at a completely different point. This was reinforced at 100m when I switched back to Federal. Sub-sonics were a completely different animal again. You have to re-sight for whatever ammo you are using.
I guess the point is to find an round you are happy with and stick to it unless you have reason to change.
My CZ is the finest rifle I own and is a precision tool of the highest quality. Love it.

452 Varmint in .17HMR with Brooks trigger kit..my colony varmint shooter and got some pretty wood. Excellent accuracy.

Believe current after market trigger kit is by Yo Dave [check rimfirecentral.com]. My Brooks kit still excellent but understand he developed some fulfillment issues so can't recommend.

I have been away for several months primarily due to CZ rifles. I now have 2 Ultra Luxes-- this would be the other end of the spectrum from the Scout, i.e. the Scout being compact, the Ultra Lux, with a 28.6 inch barrel, ain't. That said, I have 2 Ultra Luxes. I don't have two of any other gun. They are great shooters and they do fine with Stingers. Enjoy your Scout!

I bought a 452 Varmint about 2 years ago; couldn't be happier with it.

I've gotten the best groups with CCI Velocitors, but everything I've shot through it groups pretty good. WAY better than the Browning A-bolt I got rid of.
