3 months into my wait for a my 4.25" VM2 for the CBOB. Went ahead and ordered a 5" VM2 this month just because....well, you never know what I may get down the road.

Kind of liking the Occidental Leather Phoenix too.

So what are you guys using?

Here is one of my new favorite rigs. A Josh Bulman TSA-HP made for Heirloom Precision (with my Heirloom/Bailey Gov't). The mag holder is a dual mag w/shark from Alex Nossar.

Anyone have both a setup like this and say a VM2 for comparison? Do the wide loop designs ride better since the weight is dispersed over a wider area? Just wondering...

I am kind of a holster junky.....I won't even say how many I have, but it is a bunch. What I have found is that in certain situations, the wide loop designs work, in others, they do not. It has a lot to do with the loop spacing and position of the belt loops on your pants, too. The wide loop designs hold the holster a little more stable, but they take up a whole lot more area on your side, which reduces the ability to make small adjustments. Just for the record, I am in the minority when it comes to the VM2.....I find it the most uncomfortable IWB holster made. The rounded, abrupt edges and thickness makes for very painful and uncomfortable pressure points for me. The TSA design, and the 5-Shot IBS design are thin, have good retention, and allow a little more adjustment to find that perfect carry position that almost make me forget I am wearing a full size 1911.

If you like the wide loop designs, scrounge the earth for one of Alex Nossar's Valovak IWB's.....You will be hard pressed to find a nicer, more comfortable holster.
