View Full Version : Florida Highway Patrol Takes Delivery of GAP's
The first of 1,670 Gen4 G37's and 1,670 G39's have been delivered to the FHP. Training of FHP trainers starts real soon. They will use Safariland Holsters & Mag Carriers, Surefire and Streamlight lights. Troopers are being given the opportunity to buy back their service .40 caliber Beretta's and G27's.
Bravo, Florida!:wavey:

Nice. Any news as to when the Gen4 37's will be consumer available?
Probably as soon as Glock completes the order to the FHP. I'm guessing 4 weeks.

I'm anticipating the Gen4 models of all Glocks, but my buddy has G4 G17 and I'm not knocked over with it. I don't think that it will make me replace my G3 G23.
Glock will soon be releasing a lighter dual recoil spring assembly for the Gen4 G17. I like the one mine came with.

are the gen4 glocks having problems? i sure hope not i'm really looking forward to getting the gen4 g38. are the recoil springs too tight or something?
A few shooters have experienced problems with the Gen4 G17 due to it's stiff recoil spring and cheap, underpowered ammo. There have been no problems with the Gen4 G22 and I expect zero problems with the Gen4 GAP's.
Good for them! I'm sure they'll be glad to see the Berettas go. I know I'll be glad to turn mine in. :steamed::rofl:

It must be awesome to work for an agency like FHP that issues a BUG. At my place we can't even use dept ammo to qual with our BUGs, have to supply your own.
Great setup FHP!

FHP does not issue a BUG. Troopers carry their own, after approval and qualification. The 39's will be carried by BOI personnel. Alot carry the 27, and I know one who carries a 29.

Does anyone know what load FHP is going to use? That is the real question.

My bad, thanks for the info.
Well, does anyone have any pics yet? :whistling:
great news ! hope there will be more agencies using gap
No pics yet? :crying:
Anyone know if the slide thickness will be/is narrower, more in line with the G26/17/19, compared to the Gen3s? IMO thats the only draw back to GAPs.
