When do you pick up your CBOB?
Best case scenario....July. Worst case...August. They have it in the backroom with my name on it and some $ down.
I'm going to take a different approach to start here. While I've said over and over, that a nice set of beautifully grained wood grips are my favorite, I also love the nostalgia of the original maroon plastic grips on the WWII era 1911A1s.
They're proudly displayed here on these two old USGIs.

^^ Those are nice, but the loud background really detracts from the picture. You should try something more subtle.... soothing even. Might I suggest a neutral colored carpet , champagne or aue naturale . Something you could spill a saugvinon blanc on and it not leave a stain , something the NPR crowed would appreciate if it wasn't befouled with dirty 1911's..... Bac ... your Jedi photo skills need to be passed to the young padawan.

Actually, that gun pictured, is exactly what I have. Those are Rosewood grips. The newer Stainless fulsize Raptors that have the silver trigger, have the Zebra wood grips. They vary quite a bit in shade. The Stainless Pro and Stainless Ultra Raptors pictured above have the Zebra wood grips. I kinda wished that they all matched, but I call those three, my blonde, brunette and red head hotties :)

Question, why is on some of the guns the lower part of the handle cut (relieved)? Is that so when carried in forward cant it won't hit your hand?

if you are referring to this style (bobtail), it helps reduce printing of the gun. also helps to prevent getting poked in the ribs/side.
