I have been looking at the different styles of 1911 grips and have found a few really nice ones. Post some pictures of your favorite 1911 grips. Here are a few that I have found very appealing.

I'm going to take a different approach to start here. While I've said over and over, that a nice set of beautifully grained wood grips are my favorite, I also love the nostalgia of the original maroon plastic grips on the WWII era 1911A1s.

They're proudly displayed here on these two old USGIs.

I talked to Ryan today about getting a set of these in satin finish. Won't be as smooth as gloss, and I wonder if I drop in a 25LPI EB MSH, if that will be grippy enough for daily use/wear.

^^ Those are nice, but the loud background really detracts from the picture. You should try something more subtle.... soothing even. Might I suggest a neutral colored carpet , champagne or aue naturale . Something you could spill a saugvinon blanc on and it not leave a stain , something the NPR crowed would appreciate if it wasn't befouled with dirty 1911's..... Bac ... your Jedi photo skills need to be passed to the young padawan.

Actually, that gun pictured, is exactly what I have. Those are Rosewood grips. The newer Stainless fulsize Raptors that have the silver trigger, have the Zebra wood grips. They vary quite a bit in shade. The Stainless Pro and Stainless Ultra Raptors pictured above have the Zebra wood grips. I kinda wished that they all matched, but I call those three, my blonde, brunette and red head hotties :)

Question, why is on some of the guns the lower part of the handle cut (relieved)? Is that so when carried in forward cant it won't hit your hand?

if you are referring to this style (bobtail), it helps reduce printing of the gun. also helps to prevent getting poked in the ribs/side.

Does anyone know if it is possible for E to make grips that are not on her site? Can i special order grips?

Sorry I'm late to the party, but yes she will! I ordered this set recently for my new Kimber. She makes some of the best grips I've seen. These are nice enough to have theme music!

P.S. In order to make my gun look a little more classy, I've decided to change my background to carpet, hoping someone will mistake it for one of Bac's guns.

Both are awesome. What are they?

Thanks Officer's Match. They're made from 15,000 year old fossilized wooly mammoth's teeth.

There is little finer in life than having one of a fine pair of Esmeralda's pressed up against you all day.

Except maybe having E herself pressed up against you all day.
