does any one where to get one?! I've looked locally and called places they dont even carry them and i asked about specially ordering they all told me the same thing i need to give them a model number for they can find out.

Worse case scenario does any one how much it would cost for a gun smith to paint it od green?! or have a website where i can find out

Remington no longer makes that model. They made it for several years and it was one of thier worst sellers so market demand, or in this case, lack of it, kicked in and it was discontinued. There is now a PC grey coated 870 that had some serious finish issues when it came out. Remington was able to track the weapons by serial number that had these issues and it all was tracked to an employee on the night shift that was skipping a step in the coating process. He no longer works there. I have not heard of issues with the PC coated weapons since that run.

There are several kinds of paint finishes for weapons and a simple inter-net search will give you all the brands, facts and even some vendors that do this mess.

I remember this web page from Wilson featuring what you might be looking for. Try not to look at the price though. :crying:

Just get some DuraCoat - not expensive at all - and paint it whatever color you choose (and there are a lot of choices). Hope this helps -

If you already have the 870, Wilson can do an "Armor Tuff" refinish, or whatever options you desire.

Take a look under their "Remington Steal" shotgun package.

The previous poster AIPPI could probably give you good direction on other refinish options and companies.

i saw this but one thing i wasn't happy with was when i noticed the "before" gun is different then the "after" gun

Look where the lettering in this gun and notice it has a plus 1 mag

and now look at it here different lettering and no plus one mag extension

Good catch Jr. So Wilson did a little switcher-roo. I am sure it is was not on purprose as they have a good rep. The thing is that they are big enough now to have different people doing different things. Most the companies doing this are like that. So, guy one does this to your weapon, guy two does that and guys three and four do other things. Little ol' me is a one man operation and you can call me years from now and ask to speak to the person who did this or that on your weapon and I will say "you are speaking to him". Now that is true customizing. However, I do have a helper when I get real busy that bead blast the weapons as I like taking them right out of the cabinet, cleaning them and right into the tank. Other then that, nobody touches the weapon but me. I also noticed the picture but did not want to pipe in as they are my competition. I will note that in that same link they say they use "Professionally reconditioned parts". What? Now that is one fine Marketing word for "Used". I only use only Remington Factory new parts and factory new accessories.

I can also assure anyone that they will change the picture if contacted as no evil was intended. thousands of Wilson Combat shotguns are being used by LEO's every minute of every day and these guys trust their life to them. They have been around long before I got here and put out a solid dependable weapon. Only you can decide if the price is worth it. You can ask the same question about Hans Vangs, Night Hawks or AI&P tactical shotguns.

You could always duracoat a regular 870
