Monte there is one at my local gun shop. Let me know how it shoots for you as I thought about getting it to keep in the truck and whatnot.

It should shoot just like my Firestorm does, which has been great. :)

John built me this pistol in 2007 on a frame I ordered from Caspian in 2006. Specs on the pistol are the following:

1) Caspian carbon steel frame with custom serial number and bare carbon steel slide with classic serrations. The serial number is my wife's name and birthday. Slide to frame fit done by John, not Caspian. The slide's ejection port is set to eject loaded rounds and is properly lowered and flared. The frame has been high-gripped.
2) .45 ACP Kart barrel with HD bushing and spring plug. Recoil spring is 18.5#.
3) EGW slide stop
4) EGW FPS
5) Wilson Bulletproof extractor
6) Grieder short trigger with EGW ignition parts kit
7) Brown hammer strut, .38 Super firing pin.
8) Baer MSH
9) Wilson grip safety and ambi thumb safety as I shoot this gun both strong hand and weak hand
10) Brown extended mag catch and pin set
11) Yo-Bo rear sight with custom notch to match BMCS rear with matching serrated post zeroed for 230-grain standard velocity ammo at fifty feet. Sights are plain black with no tritium and no dots to distract me. Just iron sights.
12) Yo-Bo plunger tube
13) Grip reduction including round butt and custom thin grips made of ironwood made by John to fit the pistol. A pair of ivory grips has been fit as well. The grip reduction makes the thin 1911 even easier for my small hands.
14) Open up mag well, serrate front strap 20 lpi, rear of slide 50 lpi, top of flattened slide 40 lpi.
15) Carry Bevel
16) Hard chrome with brushed flats by Metalloy (Chris Peters)

This gun was designed to be my hard use carry gun while being elegant enough for use on special occasions (hence the ivory grip panels). Everything on it was proven on one of my other carry guns. The rear sight came from Yo-Bo with no notch as I specified a notch width and depth which match a BoMar rear, the sight with which I am the fastest and most accurate. The traction treatment is all serrations so as to minimize damage to suits and other cover garments. I have other guns with 20 lpi checkering for certain applications.

Every since I qualified with it, it has been in my carry rotation. As such, it has been fairly used. The grips, especially, have been beat, and I have a huge ding on the rear sight. I need to have new thin grips of G10 made to fit the frame, but I am unwilling to be separated from the gun long enough to have the work done.

I have shot fifty-yard groups with this gun that have measured under five inches. The gun will do better; I cannot.

Because the finish is hard chrome, the metal looks okay. I use an E-Treated or IonBonded gun for when things are really bad.

Some pictures from before the gun was finished to illustrate some of the work.
