Looking for first 1911...

I'm looking to get a 1911 when I get back from Iraq. I'm really hoping to get a black cco around $1500 - $2000 but I'm having a hard time finding one. Any suggestions would be great.

Secondly, in that price range, I'd look at Les Baer, unless you're dead set on something small.

Although I do not have a Les Baer, I second the motion on getting one. Another choice I recommend is a DW Valor. Mine shoots great and seems to be a great 1911. Good luck on your quest.

Finding a 1911 will be easy. Picking the one you want, will be tough!!

Plenty of choices availible.

Be sure and give the Springfield MC Operator a good look. I love mine.

You might look for/at a Colt Gunsite CCO. They're out of production but they show up semi-frequently on the gun auctions. Nice pistol--good size, lightweight, reasonably well made and generally can be had in great condition for $1000-->$1200. I found mine NIB from a dealer on gunbroker for $1195.

I think the Custom Carry is a great choice and the have it in the Commanche as well and you might want to check out the Stinger (http://www.lesbaer.com/Stinger.html) model as well it's close to your original specs

Yeah man, I didn't even notice they had a Custom Carry Commanche, I think that's the one. Though I'm still open to more suggestions. :supergrin:

That would be a good choice I think they run around $1600.00 or $1700.00 but not completely sure.
