10mm to .45?

Can I get a 1911 in .45 and swap out the barrel with a 10mm like a .40 S&W and a 9mm?

I think you need a 40 slide/top end.

It has to do with the geometry of the breech face and extractor and then the barrel(non-ramped or ramped) with matching bushings. Check with Fusion Arms about things to make it work properly.
