The gun that made the twenties roar!
I wish these full auto Thompson SMG's were as legal and easy to get today as they were in the 1920's.
Tommy Gun, it's spelled Thompson. I'm sure that John T Thompson would appreciate the credit for his invention.

Never going to happen. Hopefully you live in a state that allows NFA. Start saving up some money now ($6-8,000 for a West Hurley model).

If that sheriff was smart, he would put it on display and CHARGE ADMISSION so everyone could see a part of history, and make money for the dept all at the same time. With all the new money coming in from the thompson display, they could buy all brand new MP5's...........My 2 cents........

Why bother with MP5s....... stay with the spirit and get H&K UMP's in .45. The "Next Generation" Tommy Gun. :)

MrMurphy,
I stand corrected, yes UMP .45's would be the better of the 2. (besides they are cheaper than the MP5's!!)

IMO the UMP is cheaper than the MP5 for good reason. It is nowhere near as good a weapon system. It is very clunky in operation (like the Thompson) as opposed to the buttery smooth roller lock on the MP5. Ballistics on the .45 are only marginally better than the 9mm anyway. If superior ballistics are the issue, go with the M4. YMMV, but if it does I would check the odometer. ;)

Nothing worse than to have a jerk in authority. That Thompsen SMG should have gone to a law enforcement museum.

Thompsons rock. It is just one of those guns that feels natural when you shoot it.
