870 Police ejection problems

I have a 870 Police Magnum. Yesterday, I shot some old Winchester 4 shot that I found around my Grandfather's house. They would barely eject out of the receiver. The spent shells literally dropped right next to me. I've never noticed this before with OO Buck or Rifled Slugs. Has anyone experienced this. I keep the chamber mirror clean after every use. I also checked the extractor on the bolt and it seemed fine. The spring was still putting pressure on it. Also the ejector seemed ok and not broken.

The only time I've experienced an ejection problem with any 870 that I have, is with some old, old Sears 12 ga. #6 PAPER shells.

Those old shells had swollen slightly, and slowed the extraction/ejection.

Shells gone. Problem gone.

Old shells do have tendency's to swell a bit. If you have used newer ones after the old that should tell the story.

Ditto - old ammo problem not an 870 problem.
