I finally received my CQB with both a 9MM and 38Super barrel. Both calibers are proving to be both reliable and quite accurate. I have pretty much consolidated all my handguns to 9mm, however I have kept a TRS for 45acp fodder. Any other 9mm 1911 shooters out there? I'm in the process of working up loads for my Wilson. I have a couple pounds of N320 and a few K MG 124gr FMJ boolits.

My CQB started out as a 38Super CQB that I won at auction on GunBroker. The pistol was a NIB 2004 build. Upon receiving the CQB and verifying it was indeed new I sent it off to Wilson. I had a 9mm barrel fit, gold bead front sight with plain black boot cut rear sight and an extra extractor fit. I received it back from Wilson in about 4 weeks. I have had it to the range 3 times now and have yet to have a malfunction in either configuration. I did my homework before purchasing a 9mm 1911 as I have heard horror stories regarding getting them to reliably run. Some run great from the factory and some not so great. However every Wilson owner I have spoken to or corresponded with on several forums had nothing but praise.

I'll take some photo's today but will need to e-mail them to someone to post. I'm about as computer illiterate as can be and my 10 yr old is away for the weekend.

Of all people to say that. :tongueout:

I know, my other half is back from Europe with all the cameras so I need to get on the ball. When my RRA build comes in I'm sure I'll have a fire lit under me.

Cool.

I know you don't like taking pics, but I'm looking forward to some great shots.

I was looking at RRA for my first AR build as well. We'll see. :dunno: I've handled quite a few of them.

you can't be a 9mm 1911 shooter yet, since you haven't even fired that one yet :tongueout:

I haven't had an issue with my 9mm 1911's. might build a longslide 9mm 1911.

It's not an RRA AR.... it's a 1911. RRA ARs aren't my fav.... kind of the Kimber of ARs IMO.

Getting ready for a pistol / carbine class at my club this coming October so I just got a Stag 2L (lefty) a few weeks ago. It's not a high end AR but more than sufficient for 3-Gun shoots.

Even better yet. :)

I love RRA 1911s. I've always said their 1911s the best things they have done. Their ARs are mid-pack. Of course, that's all I'm looking for in an AR.

Yes they are. You could go with Colt, Sig (http://sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProduct.aspx?categoryid=35), or an FN SCAR (http://www.fnhusa.com/le/products/test/family.asp?fid=FNF022&gid=FNG007)

SCAR still in search of a problem. :whistling:

http://www.thetacticalwire.com/story/219885
SOCOM Cancels SCAR Project
Military.com is reporting that the United States Military's Special Operations Command has "abruptly" decided to cancel the Mk-16 (5.56mm) variant of the SOCOM Combat Assault Rifle - the SCAR. The heavier Mk-17 (7.62mm) version will, however, remain in the current arms inventory.

According to the Military.com report, SOCOM officials say the SCAR rifle in 5.56mm does not "provide enough of a performance advantage over the M-4 to justify spending USSOCOM's limited...funds when competing priorities are taken into consideration."

Instead of the SOCOM rifle, there will be additional Mk-17 variants using the 7.62mm NATO round (.308), enhanced grenade launchers, and new Mk-20 Sniper Support Rifles purchased.

Wow.

The decision puts the brakes on a six-year project to develop a new rifle that was designed from the ground-up for the military. It will undoubtedly set off another raging debate between decision-makers and the people inside the program who felt the SCAR in 5.56mm offered more flexibility, a better operating system (piston) and better performance in "dusty environments"- like the desert and mountain theaters where troops are currently deployed.

Just over a month ago, FNH, the builder of the SCAR rifle, announced they had cleared the final requirement hurdles and were going into production on both systems. Those rifles were scheduled to be issued in a Mk 16 CQC (Close Quarters Combat), Mk16S (standard), and Mk16LB (long barrel) configuration.

Instead, orders have been issued from SOCOM to turn in the approximately 850 Mk-16s currently deployed to Army Rangers, SEAL units and Naval Special Warfare Combat-Craft crewmen.
