I went to check ammo at my local walmart and was shocked to see that the ammo case was stuffed full, and they are now carrying RWS ammo as well as WWB and Remington Has anyone shot the RWS ammo? They had 9mm for 11 bucks and change. They even had WWB .45 auto 100 packs and that seems to never be in. The employee told me that they are adding more manufacturers so they can try to keep up with demand. I'm not sure if it is chain wide but I hope this keeps up! 64 bucks for 200 rounds of .45 isnt to bad!

I've noticed more and more ammo at my local Walmart's as well. It's a good sign that the worst might be over. I still choose to reload though.

I noticed the same thing - but still no 380 auto - when I see that on the shelves the run on ammo will be over.

Any of you guys know what a box of .40 s&w wwb goes for there? Nearest wallmart that carries ammo is a bit out of the way.

Your wish may have come true. Plenty at my local Walmart yesterday, Fairhope Alabama .380 Remington 50 count fmj $17.97. 60 boxes Czech stuff fmj 50 count $19.99 at local Gun store in Daphne.

Yup, hate to admit it but I bought at Walmart. They lifted their limit on 9mm so I asked, "have you got an unopened case you'd sell me?" walked out the door with 1000 Federal Champ for $202 including 7% for the governor.

Has anyone shot the RWS ammo?

I have shot one box thought my P238, worked fine, nothing spectacular, but it was accurate enough and cycled the slide with no issues, and it is brass, so I can reload it.

Has anyone shot the rws ammo? Yes, top quality stuff. Very clean, accurate and easier to store the smaller boxes. Also a little hotter than the average ball type sold at walmart. Great ammo IMO......Glock031

I just got back from a local Walmart that sells reloading supplies and they had tons of ammo! They had UMC 250 packs for 9, .40 and .45 and well as other brands and selections and even some 32 Acp and 380. The even had Reminton .22 Golden Bullet 550 packs that I haven't seen since last November. Still not the greatest price but they had a bunch of them. Things are shaping up nicely.

I don't check Walmart often but so far I've seen no improvement in availability. Always tons of .40, no 9mm (except the RWS stuff), .45, .38 special.

Plenty have came in at my WM, but I've been buying the hard to find stuff... .45 ACP. Cleaned out all the Federal and WWB in .45, plenty of 9mm in all brands and .40 as well as 380 spec.

Plenty of most all calibers at my local WM today, even 380 in WWB and Remington UMC.

9MM in WWB, Remington UMC, Federal and RWS.

Most stock and selection I've ever seen at WM!!!

Careful with the RCS ammo. It is steel cased, and many ranges, including mine, will not allow you to shoot it.

Careful with the RCS ammo. It is steel cased, and many ranges, including mine, will not allow you to shoot it.

Couple of questions:

1. They've been talking about RWS not RCS. Typo or different kind of ammo?
2. Your range doesn't like steel core or steel cased ammo? I know some ranges don't like steel core because of the spark potential. I've read that some ranges don't like steel cased ammo because they don't want the hassle of picking out steel cases from the brass they sweep up (steal) from their paying customers. Just trying to figure out what you're warning us about.

Sorry, getting my alphabet confused. I think it is RWS(orange and black small box), and sorry again, it is brass cased, steel core. It will fail the "magnet" test.

My local wally world has undergone a remodel and no longer carries rifle or handgun ammo. Just shotgun ammo on the shelves.
This is weird as I live in a very gun-friendly state.

Anyone else have a local wally that has done this?

I called ahead the other day. The guy told me he had several cases. I didn't believe it. Sure enough, the guy must have had 6-8k rounds of just the Federal alone, not even counting the Winchester....

I bought one case. Think I might go back and buy a few more before the deals run out.

In the 9mm, yeah. I'm going to buy a case soon, the store I go to have like 10 cases of the 9mm and more in the display out of the case boxes. No 45 ACP to be found... because I buy them all I can. lol

My local Walmart just went thru a complete re-modeling. Prior to the make over they only carried shot gun rounds. They now have a pretty good selection of pistol and rifle calibers. The clerk told me that they would be getting in even more brands. From what I could tell the prices are better than any of the local gun shops for the calibers and brands that I shoot.

Last week at my local walmart here in delaware i asked why they never stock fed 9mm luger. His reply was that no one ever asked for it. Well to my surprise they had it in stock for the first time ever today at $9.47:wow:. I've drove 50 some miles to a distant walmart for fed-9 before, there it is priced at $9.97. So i picked up a 1000 rounds tax free for 189.40. Not bad! considering ammo prices currently. Now i'm going to ask for some rem 100 round packs of 180 gr 40sw..

That is the brand (fed 180gr 40sw $13.97) i been buying. Rem supposibly makes a good 40sw round that i want to try. I've seen a 100 round value pack or two in another walmart for $34 when i didn't have the funds available at the time....

stopped by my local walmart in columbia, SC and they are loaded. Winchester PDX1, Remington golden saber, wwb JHPs, wwb FMJs, federal 12g loads, federal 135gr HSTs, federal FMJs for 9mm and 40sw, loads of winchester 12g loads, 45 auto of all sorts, and more 22 ammo than you could shoot in 100 range trips. Wanna try the 165 and 180 grain PDX1 rounds they have in stock. plentiful prices are steeper than palmetto state armory

My local Walmart had pretty much everything except .380 the other day.

In 9mm I picked up a couple boxes of the RWS along with a box of WWB out of curiousity and just got around to searching for it in here...found this thread.

I had no idea it was steel core. My magnet definately confirms though. Interesting...

Our Walmarts here in Albuquerque, NM are still pretty light on ammo. I've been scouring them for 357sig with very poor results. There is a decent amount of 9mm and 45. Lots of 40. All FMJ. Decent SD ammo doesn't seem to be sold here, just the crappy Win JHP white box.

Went to my normal Wally world to pick a few few things, and went over to get some ammo

the fed champion 180gr 40sw normally $13.97 went up to $20.97 per box of 50.

But WWB was $29.95 / box 100

So instead of 6 boxes ( limit per purchase) of Fed Champion for $125.82 for 300 rounds

Bought 6 box of WWB for $179.70 for 600 rounds.

That has to be a pricing mistake as it's too much of a normal increase. Fed champion 180gr 40sw is $13.97 at every walmart i've ever been to. I Just was at one a half hour ago. The WWB 100 count is 165gr and not as accurate in my glock.

That is what I thought too. But did not have time to ask. Been wanting to get some WWB anyway to try out.

Will finally get to the range mid week to try out the WWB.

I still have some Federal 165 gr to compare the WWB 165 gr too

My local Walmart never has much of anything in stock, and when they do it's over priced for what it is. Plus, I just hate going into the place.

Picked up a 100 count box of Remington UMC 380 Hollowpoints at my local Walmart yesterday for $31.97. They only had one box!!!

First time I've ever seen 380 HP's at Walmart.
