Anyone here have any guns that they've had refinished in Cerakote? How do you like it and how is it holding up? Is it as great as they make it sound in the ads? Feel free to post pics if you've got'em.

This one has been Cerakoted. I haven't had it back long enough to know how it wears.

I just sent off my Tactical Custom II for cerakote re-finishing, hope it is all good! I read tons of online reviews and most customers seem pretty happy with it.

Man he can work some magic. My Kimber is inevitably going to end up very similar after seeing this sweet baby all the time. :whistling:

That's one fine looking piece 2740. What colors are those? I want to do a two tone combo on my Commander as well.

Thanks. It's the same color that Kimber uses on their Stainless Pro Carry and Stainless Ultra Carry models. In a bright light, those aluminum frames are a slightly different color than the stainless steel slides. The 2 guns in the middle of this picture, is a factory Stainless Ultra Carry(with some slight modification to the barrel crown:cool:), on the left middle and the right middle is the above mentioned gun. The Stainless Pro Carry that Chuck Rogers golf balled and Cerakoted the finish on. BTW, he did all those flush crown jobs too.

Here's the little Ultra before it was sent to Mr. Rogers' neighborhood to become a smaller twin of the Pro Carry. I'll post pics as soon as Chuck works his magic on it and sends her back home.

I should be getting my slide/barrel back from him any day now. Going to be talking to him shortly to send the frame for golfballing. It's all your fault.

The slide and barrel are ceracoted. It has several hundred rounds through it and the barrel shows wear, but that's all so far.199821

Just got this one back today. Slide and small parts are graphite black, frame is sniper gray. I'm happy with the looks, hopefully it will be durable!

Yep, been carrying it for 2 years now. That poor thing has been exposed to some very harsh elements (I'm a motor officer) and a kydex holster!

customizedcreationz.com The guy I bought it from actually had it done before I bought it. They have good info on their site.

I've talked to Todd before. He does some nice work. Was going to buy a used P225 and have him give it the full CCAS treatment, internals...the works. Would have ended up running a little over $1K (including cost of the P225), so I decided that money is better spent in 1911s.

That Sig looks pretty much like what I want. I have a browning Hi-power "practical model" with the blue slide and hard chrome frame. I want a similar look for my commander. I think that's the look that "grabs my goat" the most!

Hokie1911

IIRC, the mods for the P225 pictured were about $600-700ish. That was more or less a complete overhaul, inside and out. Like I said with the cost of the used P225 at just under $400, I'd rather put less $ into a W German P228 with double the capacity.......or neither and go 1911, which is what I ended up doing. Really nice little shooter. I've talked to a bunch of people that own them and several that had Todd work them over. Everyone speaks very highly of his work and P225s in general.
