Hello guys. I joined this forum not too long ago to research Glocks but instead found one of the best if not the best 1911 forum around. I was going buy a Glock but after some reading here and other 1911 forums I decided that a semi custom 1911 was in my future.(bac, Quack, and jrs93accord had some influence in this desicion:tongueout:) Long story short I called George at migunslingers and placed a Wilson Combat Professional on order with him. Its going to be a while before I get the Wilson in my hands but in the mean time I have my Springer and Rock to hold me over. Anyways HI guys my name is Manny and I think I have an addiction.

Hi Manny:wavey:

I joined for the same reason. And I find myself in this forum about 98% of the time I am on GT.

At least we all have a common place to "cope" with our addiction :wavey: I too joined the forum to learn about Glocks and ended up selling a Glock to fund my first 1911.

Welcome to the forum.

:) Congrats. Smart way to go with George! The Wilson will change your perceptions of 1911s I would guess :)

Manny, welcome. We are glad to have you here. The RIA Compact and the SS SA Loaded are very nice pieces. Congrats on ordering the Wilson too. We have a very knowledgeable 1911 community here on GT. I would agree that the other forums have nothing on GT's 1911 forum. Make yourself at home. BTW, addiction is what it is all about. We will do everything within our power to make sure it gets worse.

I was in the same boat. Joined here in '03 when I got a Glock. Then HK. Then Sig. Now I've got this 1911 itch I'm working on scratching. Congrats on the Wilson. It will be worth the wait. I was playing with a stainless CQB Compact last week, and if it would not have cost me my marriage or my nuts, I would have taken it home. :whistling:

Congrats on your future Wilson. I joined a while back after buying a G19 and was introduced to 1911s after my time here on GT. Now, with the exception of long guns and .22s, 1911s are about all I buy anymore.

It would have been worth at least one of your nuts, I mean you do have two

I've got 3 kids and I'm not wanting any more. She's been wanting me to go under the knife......hmmmm, you may be one to something here. At least I would get a WC or EB out of it with that arrangement. But it would be more of a "grab, tug, pull and POP" sort of removal process with her. :faint:

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. These 1911's are like potato chips, you just can't have one. I have the Wilson on order and I am already looking at my next one. Hokie I have 4 kids but George has a very generous layaway. I too would of been heading to divorce court if it weren't because of it.
Since it probably will be a while before I get my Wilson I just thought I put up a pic of one that closely resembles what I ordered.

The one I have on order is a Professional two tone bobtail like this one with a couple of changes.
