Just got it in. A Nighthawk Predator II Bobtail black and sniper gray with a few touches to get it just how I wanted it. It was built by Travis Gregory and has the absolute best trigger I have ever felt on a 1911. Here is an initial pic. I am going to put a few rounds through it this afternoon and hopefully hit the indoor range tomorrow (dang hot Texas weather!). Ill provide a range report and what-not.

Looks great!

I almost went with those Alumigrips on both Nighthawks when I ordered them. I ultimately decided to go with wood grips both times, but the black NH Alumigrips look very nice.

You'll love the way the Predator shoots. Congrats again!

I went out to the back forty and put about 50 rounds through it this afternoon. Mixed ball, my own reloads, and winchester, remington, and hornady HPs. I had one failure to feed which seemed to be magazine related. I did all my initial shooting at 12 yards and did fist size groups with some flyers (4 flyers out 50). The trigger is only about 3 pounds with a very crisp break, the nicest trigger I have ever felt on a 1911. The first magazine I had two shots in which I suprised myself, the trigger was so light. So far I am very impressed. Hopefully tomorrow I can go shoot another 200 rounds or so and gain a little more insight into what I am capable of doing with her.

The thing I am most impressed with is how well the blast wafer tames the muzzle jump, even the +p's, and how quickly the gun settles back down on target. Felt recoil is much more mild than a typical commander sized gun, and I would even say it settles back on taget quicker than a 5". Hopefully I can shoot it next to one of my government models soon so as to compare. My own 230 grain reloads are with Clays and are very soft shooting. They just make major power factor out of a 5" gun and Clays is the softest shooting powder I have found so far. Out of this gun it felt like shooting my 5" 9mm 1911.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. You guys are real class acts.

I did take it to the range the other day but only got to shoot 150 rounds through it and only at 12 yards. I took some pictures, however, I just realized that my wife took the camera that they are on. I will give a more formal review with a few pics when I can get it back.

pls explain a "FLYER"?

A shot where I jerked the trigger causing the shot to go wide from the rest of the group. Sometimes spelled "flier" but not always. When I get the camera back and upload the pics you will see it in one group that I shot at the range.
