did anyone buy this I am thinking about it but received info these were made with not all detonics speced parts...

Its not a standard Detonics. It does have an Ed Brown grips safety and I', not sure what other differences.

I believe they were cut for a caspian grip safety.. I am interested because I was one of the shooters that put the prototype through the 31000 torture test.. If it has the Detonics barrel frame and slide it should do well, they also all had greider slide stops and solid triggers...

Did anyone else notice the "hairspring" is grooved? I wonder if I can get that put on my Springfield :)

What was the purpose for the sight setup? I have seen these before, but forget.

They were designed / intended to be carried hammer down. Moving the sight forward and dropping the slide profile in that area facilitated faster, uninterupted thumb cocking.
