Has some nice style to it without going overboard. I'm always a big fan of black on black on black.... :)
huh.....I was just at Wilson Combat a couple days ago and nobody mentioned anything about it. Would have been interesting to see. Is it based off a CQB? Looks like it.

The grips kill the look for me. Not sure how much grip those front strap diamonds would provide?
Didn't Caspian release a similiar style checkering couple months back?

At $2395 it the lowest price Wilson 1911 so I would expect it will do well. Seems like Armor-Tuff is a $100 up grade. I would buy one. :)
buy one today...
Any customer who adds one of these to their collection today will receive 2 additional 47D magazines and free over-night shipping to ensure delivery by the weekend.
he took the words right out of my mouth.
Oy vey. It may work but it looks Kimber-ish. I could be happy to the end of my days if I never heard the words "Tactical" or "Operator" -or any abbreviations of same-ever again.
i thought the Kimber guys went to work for Sig not Wilson :whistling:
I was just looking at this.. Interesting design thats for sure. The front strap treatment isn't "bad". I am sure it provides some grip. Not sure I like the serations on the slide though.
I am sure after 100 years, it hard to come up with a new design that appeals to the masses... Not that there is anything wrong with the original.
Upon further review:
X-Tac $2395 + $100 for ArmoTuff = $2495
CQB $2550 w/ ArmorTuff & checkering on the front strap and traditional slide serrations.
$55 Difference.
I think the $55 is worth it.
Still a $2395 Wilson is good for the 1911 market IMO.

I'm not a fan of fiber-optic sights, but other than that I like it. It's styled enough to be different, but simple enough to still have some class. Not bad at all.

According to my firends at Wilson they have had customers who wear gloves and throw flashbangs clamoring for a heavier texture pattern than 30LPI and more durable than traditional 20/25 lpi checkering. There is NOTHING traditional about the gun, other than Wilson quality. I really like the look and the sights. They seem like a major step forward for WC.
Well they were successful in stirring up some interest that is for sure :)
