Well just what the title says. It may be old news, but in case anyone was wondering, I heard it from Cimarron today.

I like Armscor 1911s, but I was really hoping it was something different. It is a bit different than the High standard and Rock Island GIs, because I don't believe it has a lowered or flared ejection port.

2010 really seems like the year of the 1911, with so many introducing new models.

It really does seem that way and I'm not complaining! Didn't even know Cimarron was offering one...thanks for the info.

No problem.

Yeah, it just came out over the last couple of weeks I believe. :dunno:

One wonders if it could be because the Model designation M1911 is about to turn 100 years old.
Even though the Browning designed .45 pistols is older.

This is the next to last year that 1911s will be produced, so everybody's cashing in. Everybody who makes guns will make 1911s.

A bunch of tarted up 2011 commemorative 100th anniversary special model 1911s will flood the market, and then the fad will finally end.

bac1023 will buy at least one of each.

So far the 100 year anniversary 1911s I've seen pictures of leave a lot to be desired. ;)

Gold plating does not belong on a 1911.
Providing we still have the Right, I would imagine the 1911 will still be around 100 years from now.

No doubt.

I don't do fancy engraving or plating.

I could go for engraving, as long as it was hand engraving.
The laser engraving just looks like crap.

I appreciate the work that goes into good hand engraving, but its just not for me.

It never has been. I like it on fine shotguns, but not handguns. :dunno:

Cimmaron calls this a 1911-A1, but in reality, its specs are that of an original 1911. Everything I've heard is that its supposed to be as close to a 1913-1918 model as you can get. I'm not sure why they're calling it an A1. :dunno:

Check out the frame, for instance.

It looks interesting. I think going to have my shop order one for me. I'm not aware of any 1911 clones on the market, except for the Colt WWI reproduction.

Does anybody know if the left side is virgin slide, or if it says CINNAMON or CINNABUN or whatever blasted across the side?

I would imagine they are trying to keep it period correct as much as possible, they are probably trying to work on their market niche. I have hear that there are "wild bunch" matches at the cowboy action shoots now, and that means you need a 1911, one like you could get back in the day.

Perhaps 2 lines of text like a 1911A1... only with their info.

PS: Similar to the Rem-Rand on Essex I'm picking up in 2.5 hours.

I don't think so.

I think the slide should be clean, unless they try some sort of "US ARMY" markings on it.

Yeah, "wild bunch" is what inspired this new Cimarron.
