The new ones have the jaw raised by .187 to help counter the problem some people were having with the slide twisting. Also, all aluminum is hard coat anodized.
Same here. Thanks.
I got them all, they will be going out today.
I received mine today and it worked flawlessly on a 19, 22 and 26. looks great and functions very nicely.
Received my sight Pusher today, thanks for the quick turn around. Looks great, can't wait to put it work!
So this will work on say the Warren sights?
Or do I need a different tool?
I believe the sides of the Warren sights are vertical. That means two things. First, the slope of the pusher will hit on a shoulder and might make a mark; you can probably get around this by putting a business card between the two metal surfaces. Secondly, the Warren sight is very low profile over the dovetail, so you will want a well measured shim to allow the pusher to just clear the slide, and the max width of the sight should be about 15/16" for the pusher to straddle the sight (the Warrens look wide). Bottom line is I'd be very surprised if it won't work, but I haven't done it.
If the side of the sights are vertical, use the side of the pusher and not the cutout. I made it this way so it would work either way. The inside or cutout, works better with angled sights and the side of the pusher works best with the straight sights.
That works for removal, but when installing, unless the sight can be pushed most of the way into the dovetail without the tool, there isn't room for the pusher to the side of the slide where the sight is sticking out. You can start it within the cutout, and then, when it is most of the way in and getting tighter, reposition everything and push the rest of the way with the side.
