My best friend would really like to purchase a G36 - especially after hearing my raves on this fine pistol. Problem is the recoil pinches his finger - badly. Tried both the standard mag. base and the Pearce +0 - no difference. We were thinking of possibly altering the mag base, not the pistol, to open up the gap between these two pinch points. Possibly grinding down with a Dremel, or similar tool. Curious to see if any G36, or other Glock models have been succesfully altered to avoid this dilemma.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Shooting glove!?

Never thought of a shootin' glove, thanks. Would be fine for practice, and without would not be a problem if that G36 needs to be fired.

I've read of this problem with the 36 and the 30. I've owned 2 36 and one
30 and never experienced it. The 36 I have now is my daily CCW. I think it
has more to do with a person's physical build. I'm 5'7" 170 with small hands:
no problem. My brother, who has my old 36, is 6'0" 225 and it bites him.
Gloves are the easiest fix. A good pair that only have the trigger finger
exposed would be my recommendation. Never heard of any other fix for
the few who have this problem but you might try a search. There may be
a fix I don't know of.

Thanks. It just has to do with where your fingers lay on the grip. Since mag extensions are inexpensive, we will try to Dremel these down - or go in the direction of eliminating the gap with a spacer or o-ring. Will update w/ our findings.

This same problem is what forced me to sell both of the G36s I used to own. It used to be so bad I'd have blood all over the plastic before finishing a box of 50 rounds in practice.

If there is another solution (besides wearing gloves) I'd sure like to hear it.

I could never understand why Glock makes these things with small grips when just about everyone uses extenders. And in the case of the 30 and 36 the standard mag has the Glock extender already. Why not just make the damn grip longer!

Your little finger is supposed to curl under the mag.
You can lightly sand the frame and mag base where they meet.

Great observation Mr. Surfboard. And thanks, Jim.

You should only squeez the grip with two fingers. The little finger should not do any squeezing. That may be the reason your being pinched.

I have some rubber bands wrapped around the grip. This "built out" the grip just a tad, which shifted the position of my pinkie just a little.

No more pinch!

Thanks jb. Many creative ways to solve this problem.
