View Full Version : 200gr WFNGC: Beartooth vs DT vs ________ ?
I'm getting ready to start loading up my Hunting/Woods Defense rounds, and I'm wondering about the differences in hardcast bullets out there. From what I understand DT is making/loading their own production WFNGC bullets, and not using Beartooth anymnore. I have made up my mind on the 200gr WFNGC bullet, I just don't know which company to buy from. Are the a differences big enough for me to be concerned about? What other companies do you guys use for 200gr WFNGC bullets?
I load DT primarily because they have earned by business. It is true that DT has replaced the BT projectile with their one of their own some time ago. DT claims them to be identical to the Beartooth. I have not substantiated this claim, but the DT projectiles have worked fine in my G20. I have been intending for some time to do some additional testing at long ranges. Folks are reporting stability problems with the 230 grainer in a G20. I want to ensure that the 200 grainer is ok stability wise. So far, I haven't noticed any symptoms of instability.
They aren't WFNGC, but I just got in 500 of the Missouri Bullet "Steelers", it's a hardcast 200gr 10mm/40 cal bullet. Great price and I've always been impressed by their products.
I shoot 200gr Beartooth with my top Blue Dot loads in my Colt Delta Elite/G20/G29/18" T/C Contender I am very happy with them.
Thanks for the input guys. So that's 1 vote for DT, and 1 vote for Beartooth.
I figured there would be alot more than 2 guys on here with info about these bullets though...
I am a bit surpised too. They seem to be popular around these quarters.
+1 for DT
