It has been my practice to fully load the G27 magazine to capacity with 9 rounds, slide it into place, then manually insert the "10th" round directly into the chamber before I drop the slide release lever.

Am I damaging any internal parts by doing this? Am I better off letting the slide strip off the top round from the magazine?

Thank you.

Good question!
The truth of the matter is, you are not doing your Glock any favors. Loading the chamber in this manner exerts excessive pressure on the extractor and you will eventually chip and/or break it. All Glock pistols should be loaded directly from the magazine. Strip the first round from a spare mag and then insert a fully loaded mag if you wish.

Thanks, JR. I just developed a new method of loading my Glock.
