I'm looking for a nice hard case to transport a rifle (or 2). I'm down to two and would like opinions. It's either the Pelican 1750 or Pelican Storm im3300. They're pretty comparable in size and weight.

I'd like to find something to fit both a 20" and 18" scoped AR. Other than a couple extra latches on the Storm, what are the pros/cons of one over the other?

No idea, I am ordering a 1750 but I will ask my friend about the 3300. His brother works for Pelican.

I have 3 Pelican 1720s and 1 Pelican 1750.

I am brand loyal. The foam is easy to cut, the cases are strong and durable on the 17 series. No experience with the im whatever

I pulled the trigger on the 1750. I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival, along with my MK12 upper on Monday.

That's just a picture from the BCM website. It's getting a Mark 4, hopefully, within the month.

I have:
3 x 1650s
1 x 1700
1 x 1750
1 x 1490
1 x 1470CC

Don't mess around with other junk. The answer is PELICAN.

Do you guys with the 1750's think there is room for two rifles with optics, maybe with the upper and lowers separated?

Possibly,......but it would be a tight fit,
For that I would suggest a 1720

How do u cut the foam so clean?

I cut it with a sharp sharp sharp knife. I make sure not to use a "sawing" motion, as that will make the edges serrated and ugly. I just kind of glide it along the line I want to cut, sometimes making 2 or 3 passes at varying depths. They are elaborate electric foam cutters that "melt" a clean line, but that was too involved for me. Maybe if I had a suppressed machine gun with all the bells and whistles but not for a WASR or two bushmaster ARs.

Nice toe shot,........:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hey hey, I heard it was a rule I had to have at least one toe shot in every group of pics I posted.

I'd say yes, definitely, but skip the OEM middle foam. It always looks like crap, and as soon as you take one thing out it's all floppy.

This thread has some really nicely cut high density foam...

I heard Pelican can cut your foam for you if you send an outline trace of your gun to them.

I have about $5K in Storm cases, I like these better than Pelican. Pelican bought out Storm but they will continue to make some cases like Storm. I prefer their closure devises over Pelican.
