Correct....you would have to change the forend for that.

if im not mistaken, you CAN use the six shot with THAT forend, IF you are willing slightly MODIFY THAT forend. you would need to cut away a bit of the wood so that when you rack the lide all the way back, it does not contact the sidesaddle. dont know how "crafty" you are but, it IS a possibility.

Change forends? I would just take the time to mod a old wood one, I've been able to find wood for 870's at gunshows for cheap.
