.40 to .357 Sig Conversion - Factory vs. Aftermarket

Hi Mas!!

Thank you again for your time and expertise your give to us all here on GT.

You’ve been so helpful to a novice like me.

I would like to change things up a bit and get a G32 barrel for my G23 and carry .357 Sig for self defense purposes.

My question is…for a weapon I’m planning to carry to protect the life of myself and the ones I love, should I stick with a factory Glock barrel, or would an aftermarket barrel like one from LWD suffice?

I would, of course, verify the reliability of the barrel & ammo combination.

I for one would be comfortable with a high quality aftermarket barrel, and one with conventional rifling will also give you the lead bullet handload option for practice and recreational shooting. With either that or the factory barrel, be sure to sight in: the switch between .40 S&W and .357 SIG barrels within the same slide often result in a point of aim/point of impact change in terms of elevation.
