While my Mil-spec was back at Springfield for some warranty work, I had them change a few things.

Just the factory grips that went on it in April of 1989.

What type of warranty work?

The inside of the slide had a very poor looking blue job, and the trigger was heavy. I did not measure it, but on my reciept under repair , it shows re-blue the slide and lighten trigger pull to 5 pounds. I paid for the ejection port to be lowered and flaired, the mag well beveled, the new hammer, the beavertail, the extended ejector, and the frame refinish.

Was the pistol NIB, and did they send you a mail label?

Yes Sir it was new in the box, though it had been sitting around since 1989 ! They paid shipping both ways. I figured while it was there I would have a few of the things I wanted done to it taken care of.

Hey Wade,

Can you take some more pics? I would like to see how they flare the ejection port. Iím assuming that the cross cannons are at the rear of the port?

I am sending a pistol to them in the near future, and would like to see if they use the standard flare or if it is modified.

Thanks,
Smitty

Looks real nice.

I'm much too spoiled to enjoy shooting a 1911 with the standard GI grips safety!

You know, I have never fired this gun. I bought it out of state, so I called Springfield as soon as I saw the inside of the slide. I am going to a shoot on the 31st. so I will give it a go then.

 You sent it in for warranty work--and it's never been shot!?!?!? Plus, it's been there since I was one year old!?

How much did you pay for it? That would be an extremely cool story to go along with a very nice gun.

Yep, it was sitting in someones inventory up until six or seven weeks ago !!!!! Another member on here mentioned that it was in a shop he worked at. In fact, he said they had 2, but they ended up selling one during the two weeks it took to convince his boss to ship one out of state. I got it for $615 shipped. I felt it was a good price for a gun that is no longer in production. I was bidding on a used one on GB earlier this year until it got over $700. It went for over $1000 !!

By the way GT were is Gabe ? I haven't seen any posts from him lately.:dunno:
