I love the feeling of camaraderie we all have here, but also like being completey anonymous every once in a while. I feel "invisible" compared to being on our great forum. Its a really weird feeling, to be honest.

Its amazing how clueless some people are to the world of 1911s.

Bac,

Dude why don't you buy a few 1911s before opening your pie hole about them. You clearly have very little experience with 1911s from your statements. Let me guess you have a old Colt that your daddy gave you so now you are a 1911 expert?

Reading those ridiculous posts (not bac of course) on that forum make me really appreciate GT. What a bunch of jokers !

Bac, what was your reasoning for purchasing a Taurus ? Having seen your collection I wouldn't have expected you to own one. The 1911 is such a beautiful design. That Taurus could create such an ugly example says a lot about the company. The PT1911 name on the side is just plain ugly. It reminds me of someone with a Camaro that has a giant aftermarket -Camaro- insignia on the side of it. Out of place and just wrong.

Plus the worst of the gun store salesmen are often pushing them. I always feel sorry for the newbies when they are listening to how great the Taurus is. I have interjected a few times which seems to irritate the guys behind the counter. Maybe there is a bigger profit margin since they are so crappy.

When I bought the Judge today I paid $459, the PT1911 they had was $579 and I remember thinking after the 1911 fever hit me "ohh for only $120 more I can get a new 1911".....but then I came to my senses :)

The PT1911 just does not "feel" right when I hold it at the store....:dunno:

I have never really heard anything bad about their revolvers. I may eventually get one of their revolvers chambered in .357 Mag. but there are quite a few in line ahaed of it.

Do you currently have any of their revolvers?

I am going to keep it as a "car" gun. I do not mind carrying a $2500 1911 as a CCW but I can not stand the thought of leaving it in my car all day when I am at work. :) If the Judge gets stolen I am only out $500.

Just to get an accurate price on the Judge. Did you actually pay $496.86, which is the price including tax, or did you walk out the door for $459? I'm curious, because you might qualify for a LEO or Military discount.

My polished Judge was $516, including tax, when I bought mine. I don't think they make the polished one anymore, but I had to have one.
