View Full Version : Cost of primers
Local gun show yesterday - small pistol primers, various makes, $39.99.
Local gun store yesterday - small pistol primers, Federal, $34.99.
Entrance fee to show $7.
Go figure! It's a crazy world we live in.
I have been paying $115 per 5,000 lg or sm pistol Wolf primers at PA gun show for months. Price dropped down about $20 per 5,000 from last year.

I have found 6K of CCI SP primers within the last two weeks locally that worked out to be about $32/K after sales tax. Of course, the supply is not always there, and it may be months before I see that many of them again. However, I will continue to buy them by 1000 at a time when I can find them for that price around here.
They are running $29/1000 at the local show. I just bought some private-sale for $120/5000. Deals will vary by locale. Online, Power Valley is a good way to go. Good luck.
Don't forget the shipping and has-mat fee's when ordering on line.
Found 1000 CCI small rifle primers for $32.70 at the last gun show= bought those. Local shop tried to get me to buy the same thing for $49.50= I said you're living in the past...

Heh! If they were living in the past, they'd be $8/1000

Powder Valley did not have any primers nor did anyone else that I checked and I needed some small pistol. Cabelas had CCI for $29.99/1000 $5 shipping and $20 hazmat. That is $175/5000 or $35/1000.

Yes, we are still in shortage mode if they are gettign $40/K. I miss the good old days of $11/K, not that long ago, really.

Each way? Better buy a bunch or drive an elec car.:whistling:
In central ohio - bought them locally last week for $29/1000 (on sale). they had butt-loads of them, and a ton of ammo. Hopefully things are easing up a bit...
