I am going to send out the Texas 9 to have it bobtailed and some new sights put on. Who would you recommend. SA's custom shop wants $225 just for the bobtial.

Doubt you will find a BETTER shop that does quality work for less.
A blotched bobtail job looks like crap.

+1, i have always heard wilson does good work as well. ggi is real good too. theyve done a number of my guns

http://www.crawleycustom.com/ does good work, and is in Texas. No idea on pricing, but have handled a pistol he built and was impressed.

Thanks for the heads up 98LE. I see that he is in Kemp which is not to terribly far from me so I think I am going to go with that guy.

I don't think you're going to find a quality shop doing it much cheaper than that, maybe a little. You don't want poor workmanship though.
