Where to engrave

Called ATF today and they said not to engrave info on bbl.

Only on lower.

It depends on what item is controlled on the weapon. ARs and most American made guns, the controlled item is the lower. On many European designed guns, the upper is the controlled item.

You have to mark the lower on an AR15 because the barrel can be removed so readily and besides, you'd have to mark every upper you had and thats a pain in the ass.

You didnt have to ask ATF, we'd have told ya that here. :)

I engrave on the front of the magazine well or on the side such that the ejection port covers flapped down covers it. Companies with high dollar engraving equipment can put it on either side of the trigger opening on the bottom of the receiver.
