... it'd be a Les Baer Comanche, strong-side safety only. And since I'm not happy until I get what I want, I made it happen. Behold my new-to-me Les Baer Concept VII, born in Feb. 2009. As I posted on another forum, "an IABaer for an IANative."

Fear not, it shan't be the last. I must now start a fund for a TRS and an Improved! Police Special 5.56. It's a disease...

Very nice. If you could only have one, might as well go high end!

Thanks, I've owned others (1911's) before, but none of them hung around for long. Paras, RIA, Kimber and S&Ws. I guess this is why... once you know what you want...

I will say that of the ones I owned previously, the S&W Gunsite was my favorite. I just couldn't tolerate the FCS.

I think it would be my hardchromed Guncrafter No Name, but I won't know for sure until I get my hands on it and compare to my others. One of the best shooting and feeling 1911's I've personally ever shot was a TRP. I've shot Wilson's and Nighthawks. Never have shot a Baer or an Ed Brown. My fullsize stainless Raptor is as good a shooting 1911 as I've ever shot also. I have a Wilson CQB and a STI Legacy that I'll be picking up next week, so maybe one of those will take the lead. But, I have pretty high hopes for the GC NN. :)

I knew I was forgetting something. THE best shooting 1911 I've ever shot, is my Kimber Custom Target II, that was built to bullseye specs and then hardchromed. I could I gorget about that gun? :dunno::supergrin:

Congrats! I like that alot. I like fullsize 1911's, but I'd have to say I really have a soft spot for Commander sized models. That's a good looking one too.

Good looking Baer you have there, and it even came with one of those cool boxes, so you know it's worth it.

Gorgeous, brzusa. Is that a TRS minus the FCS? Please say yes!

No, I actually decided to go with the Custom Carry because of the ambisafety. I did order this way without the FCS and the solid trigger (16 weeks +4 or 5 days).

p.s. Your gun is awesome!!!

brzusa, Man, that is sweet! Love that look. Obviously, I'm not the first owner of my Concept VII, but the gentleman who was had the decency of ordering it w/ a strong-side only safety... like he knew it'd eventually fall to me.

Yours is exactly what I'm looking for in my next Baer.

No.

The TRS doesn't have the caliber marked on the left side like that.

I've always thought the SRP was Baer's best 1911. :)

Correct, it says Bear Custom on the left and TRSpecial on the right.

Eh, I prefer without FCS.

However, Baer does a nice job with the serrations in general, so they don't bother me. The ambi safeties don't bother me either.

I'm just razzing you, of course, bac. You seem to have enough 1911's to have seen/owned one in every possible configuration ever made. To each his/her own.

I've owned two S&W commanders. A 1911pd and a Gunsite. Both great guns, but something about them never "looked" right to me. FCS, of course. And as far as ambi-safeties, I guess it's kinda the same thing... the whole "less is more" philosophy. Or, in my case, "Les is more."

Its cool man.

I prefer them without the front serrations for sure. My next custom will be here soon and has no front serrations or ambi safety.
