Best .40 round for SD

Mas - I recently switched from carrying a 5" Kimber .45 for self defense to the .40 (mostly G27, but perhaps sometimes G22) because I work part-time for county sheriff's office and that is what they carry.
That being said, what is the best round for SD carry?

I'm partial to a 165 grain JHP rated for 1140 or so foot-seconds, or a 155 grain JHP at a nominal 1200 fps.
