Picked up a State Highway Patrol trade in:

Beretta 1201FP, originally purchased and issued to the highway patrol in the mid 90s.

$299 and functionally is fine, as it hasn't been shot much, but it is a beast to shoot. Recoil seems worse than my 12 ga pump. Regardless it is a keeper at the moment

Found this little write up.

Great gun, and at $299 a steal. FWIW, the Benelli oversize bolt handle will fit the 1201.

Benelli M1 stocks fit this gun too. Also, if you need a fiber optic front sight I used one for a remington rifle front dovetail and it fit perfect and looked great!
That was a great buy!! It is basically a Benelli M1 which are upwards of 1000.00 nowdays!

I just got one for $275.00 and it has a 6 shell side saddle on it. I just shook my head as I filled out the paper work. I couldn't believe it. I had one in the 90's and sold it for $500.00. I also had an M-1 Super 90, sold it for $500.00 around the same time. They are almost identical.

In this day and age, a semi auto shotgun for $275.00? This thing shoots Remington slugs at 50 yds. like it is a 30-30 rifle. Center hits on a 25 yd pistol target was no problem with the rifle sights.

I am adding a better recoil pad. It does thump pretty good with magnum loads. It has a different manual of arms than other shotguns due to the loading protocol. Once you figure out the release buttons, there are two, it is easy to use and top off.

One of the best deals I have ever made.
