How do I go about getting a class 3 permit? Can I use it for personal use only? how much money will it take? If I have to sell guns to hold the permit is there a minimum?
Is it legal? All I want is A Glock 18 or maybe 2, I will pay, as long as it does not get out of hand. I also insist on it being legal. If anyone can help explaine, thanks.
Can't help you on going about getting the C3 permit there, but as I understand it, there are no transferable G18s in the U.S.
1. Get a Type I FFL (regular gun dealer's license).
2. Apply for a Class 03 license a year later.
3. Pray the local police department requests one as a post-sample.
-or-
2. Apply for a Class 02 (machinegun manufacturer's license)
3. Legally convert all the Glocks you want to full auto.
Call the BATF for more information. Remember, it's $500 a year and if you give up your license you give up all post May 19, 1986 manufactured machineguns.

Don't you have to have a LE request letter (or order) to make a MG, even with a Class 2 license? I think you can make & stock suppressors, but since it's illegal to make MGs for civilians, doesn't each one you make have to be targeted for (not at!) a particular department?
Of couse, that sounds kind of odd; I imagine that a large manufacturer like Colt must have stock on hand to fill orders quickly.
It just seems that the ATF isn't going to be real happy if you make & stock 10 MGs without any LE orders. And we all know that it's not the Constitution that's important, it's what makes the ATF happy...

Nope. You don't need a thing to manufacture your own post-86 samples other than a Class II license. Now, to sell, trade, or otherwise dispose of them is a TOTALLY different issue. Then you need to have the letters.
