I thought I'd work up some 10mm auto loads using Sierra Sports Master JHP bullets (155gr). I'll be using Hodgdon Titegroup and WLP primers. Hodgdon has limited load data available (please don't post their link... I've been there), and other resources I have appear to be too old to list a usable variety of Titegroup loads.

Yes, I'll get an up to date manual.

That said, would some of you that have manuals chime in with some load data that I can compare to? If you've tried this combination of bullets, primers, and powder; what chrono data do you have to share?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the thought. I've found this before too. But if I'm paying for it (which this link requires), I thought I'd just get the manual (which I'll be doing at the next gun show here in Washington).

Anyone have a manual or two they can check for me so I can get loading sooner than later? I'd appreciate any input you have.

this is from the hodgdon website
155gr hdy xtp
1.260 col
6.4gr titegroup is start load 1211fps
7.2gr titegroup is max 1315fps
you can go to their site and double check this for yourself my speer manual does not list titegroup loads (speer manual 13) for the 10mm
i have not loaded for 10mm so have no knowledge of how well this load performs but i use titegroup for my .40 and love it.

by the way please double check this info just go to a store and look in a reloading manual to check that this is indeed a safe load. or wait for a few more people to chime in saying this is g2g.

Thanks albyihat... I appreciate you looking. I've used it in other calibers too, and I really like it. Since I have a bit, I thought I'd give it a go in my 10mm to see how it worked out.

Anyone else have some more info to share?

TG sucks monkey balls in the 10mm. Use Longshot.

Ok, since you went there, I'll add mine. Why would you load TG in a high pressure application like the 10mm? I have no proof, but I'll bet many guns have been KB'd using TG in high pressure applications. There is a reason you see little to no printed data for it in the 10mm (Lyman). Just no point taking the risk for zero gain, unless you just want light target loads. AA#7 or Longshot are much better options for full power ammo.

Lyman says 5.7-6.4gr @ 1200fps max. I can get that in the 40 w/ slower powder @ lower pressures.

I was wonder the same thing. Why would you bother with TG in 10mm. I guess if you wanted to load nothing more then mid loads that just cycled the gun it would be OK. Anything beyond that your just crazy in my book.

I totally get where you're coming from guys. I don't think TG is best suited for 10mm... it just happens to be what I have right now (I have a TON of it). I'm thinking about doing a trade for something better suited for the 10mm. More on that later.

Thanks again folks!

I've been using TG with a 165 plated FN, but only for light plinking loads.
Sierra doesn't list TG for the 165/10mm, but the 2009 Hodgdon annual lists a 155 XTP at 1.260" COL starting with 6.4 grains Titegroup (1211 fps) and a max of 7.2 (1315 fps/35,700 psi)

I would trade some AA#5 of Power pistol.

As soon as you burn up the TG, work up some of those 155 grainers to 12.5gr of Blue Dot. It's a safe, fun, accurate load, that works well with CCI300, WLP & CCI350 primers.

Check out the 10mm reloading forum, in the Gun Related Clubs subsection.

I am working up loads for 155/180/200 gr bullets using Blue Dot, Longshot & Steel right now. The more I use Longshot, the more I like it.

Oh man, thanks for the offer. It looks like I need to be seeking a trade for Longshot or AA#7. If you can do either of those, that would be something to look at... especially Longshot.

Right on! I'll check out the forum ASAP. Didn't know it was there (is it obvious that I'm new to GT?)

Now you are seeing the light. Powder lasts along time. Even though I am not a fan of TG, you can keep it & use it for other hangun loads. If You could trade it all though, I would in a heart beat.

Power Pistol will last longer then #7 and give exactly the same performance. They are both good powders. Just PP needs a lot less powder then #7 for the same velocity. Don't confuse that with PP being a fast powder. They are about the same speed and about the same amount of case volume as well. Never used Longshot. I would like to.

I think LS is the replacement for HS7. It is a good performer in 357sig, 40 & 10mm. Probably works for 9mm+p too, jut haven't tried it yet.

I think your right. I would like to try LS but I hardly ever shoot 9mm max style loads or even my 10mm very often. Power Pistol is pretty good in 9mm through 10mm as well.

PowerPistol is one I haven't tried yet. I went to LS for my 357sig & 10mm loads, kept raeding about PP muzzle blast. I already knew BlueDot was giving me that so went LS. I'm happy with it for those two calibers for factory equiv, or slightly better, loads.

I never shoot inside so the muzzel blast is a non issue to me. LongShoot should give some pretty good numbers with 200 and 180 grs bullets? Have you chrono'd it at all.

With the 175grSTHP, 1250fps is pretty easy to get in a 5", right at 1300fps w/ a 165grRGS. I haven't tried any 200gr yet.

I have gotten 200gr WFNGC's to average 1267fps out of my G20L using Longshot. I have also gotten my 9x25 Dillon 90gr XTP's averaging over 2000fps with Longshot. Did I mention I like Longshot?
