Looking for a highly-carryable, low profile, smaller, sheathed fixed blade for EDC.

I have a Ka-Bar TDI that I use for defense, but this would be an all-around knife that I have easy access to on my belt.

I have my eyes on the Doug Ritter RSK fixed blade, but it's a bit outta my price range.

Suggestions? Thanks!

The Ritter RSK is a fine knife and in a similar size I would also recommend an Emerson PUK.

Those 2 said my #1 recommendation for an EDC fixed blade would be an ESEE Izula or ESEE Hest depending on your preference. You can't go wrong with ESEE and you can find Izula's for about 40 bucks.

I find these two very useful and easy to carry as gneral purpose cutters.
Cold Steel, Master Hunter
Gryphen, M-10
Also
Ontario, RAT-3

What overall length? blade length?

I don't know about sweet but TOPS has a large selection of ~3" blades. I carry one in my boot. The RC3 is also a great choice.

How much can the RC-3 be found for? I'm seeing ~$100...is this correct?

I paid just under $90 for mine but it was 6 months or so ago before they re-branded to ESEE.

Keep your eyes peeled. In the want ads here they usually go for $60-$80

I would love to have a Cold Steel Tanto. I could have had one if I didn't drop almost a grand on butterfly knives. :o

I would go the non tactical route and look at Anza Knives for an all around EDC at a very reasonable price. High carbon steel, made from files. This one has a 3.5" blade (model 02) and has served me well. The sheath was made by a local holster maker, Mike Meredith of Pocket Concealment Systems.

THAT is a very good looking knife. Do you have any further information on the maker, etc.?

I've been looking into the ESEE Izula for a while. I hear nothing but good about it. It seems to be a pretty well made and durable little EDC fixed blade.

The kalista from Blackhawk is a good knife. I carry mine every day. The holster system is very good, you can modify it to almost any carry style you can imagine.

ESEE 3 or 4. Best fixed blades for the money aside from maybe Scrapyard and Swamprat.
If you're not familiar with ESEE, they have some of the best heat treated 1095 in the business and have a no-questions asked 100% guaranteed lifetime warranty. If it breaks, send it in and they'll either fix it or replace it.

Swamprat and Scrapyard are great too. They have upgraded steel over 1095 imo and just as good a warranty as ESEE but are harder to get.

I'd suggest checking out some custom made blades. You can really get some great stuff for the buck these days. Plus you'll have something unique and handmade.

I highly recommend knives from Fiddleback Forge. Andy's knives are beautiful as well as very functional. Check out the EDC's and the Bowlegged Joe's.
