HK USP flat Spring [Archive]

Took the HK out today to do some cleaning and checking overall operation. After taking it apart and racking the slide a few times a small metal piece came out.

After looking on the internet it appears my flat spring broke. Now the trigger still works and hammer operates but I am unable to have it cocked and locked but the decocker still works and everything else is normal.

Is this a normal occurence over time due to wear and tear or ???:faint:

Any help would be appreciated.

Yours is the first instance I have seen of this happening.

I googled this and it appears to have happened to some other people. Needless to say I stopped down at range and I am having it shipped back to HK. I also requested them to give me a quote to overhaul the entire gun while they are there. I wish I could get into an armorers class. Thanks to all who responded.
