Been shooting both Winchester Range/Target and Wolf but seems impossible to find any decent Target/Range ammo at a good price now. What is everyone using and where is a good place to get it.

Walmart stocks a lot of WWB .40 in Albuquerque, NM. It's about as cheap as you're going to find around here.

Thanks, little far for me to drive, I've checked 3 walmarts around me only 2 sell ammo and both where out of .40 but the sticker on the shelf was $29.95 for 100 rounds of Wincester Target/Range

I use to be able to order online and get it cheaper then that shipped but seems those days are gone. I have cases of 9mm and can get that no problems but seem .40 is just hard to get right now atleast around me.

Hoping to find something less then $0.30 a round.

Lol, it's the opposite here. Tons of 40 and enough 9mm when you need it. I sold a G30 because I couldn't get 45 ammo for it here. Bought a new G23, a 357 Sig barrel and a 9mm conversion barrel. The 357 ammo was comming out of Walmart's ears when the 45 was AWOL. Now there is lots of 45 and no 357 Sig. Go figure. We GT'ers should set up an ammo swap, lol.

I asked the guys that work at the local gun shop what ammo I should stay away from. They replied, wwb 100 round box's from walmart. They said that the rounds were damaging peoples pistols. They also said that some hand gun manufacturers were saying that they would void the warranty if that Winchester brand round was used. Don't know how they could tell but in any case it sounds pretty serious. Has anybody else heard of this?

I've never heard of this... Info sounds a little suspect :dunno:

If you aren't reloading and can't buy good local ammo then check online sources. Ive used http://www.ammoengine.com/ before. Just act fast when you find a great deal.

Yea I looked there if the shipping was free it would be a good deal, but it's not so Walmart is still cheaper if you can find it.

www.ammoman.com (http://www.ammoman.com) is normally where I buy ammo in bulk just they have been out of the cheap .40 S&W

1000rnds $269 shipped.
40 S/W WOLF 180 GRAIN
NEW POLYMER COATING
NEW, NON CORROSIVE
COPPER JACKETED
STEEL CASE

This would be a good deal, I have used Wolf in my G19 with no problems and have 2000+ rnds of 9mm

I need to find someone locally that might wanna split the order with me. I usually go through 100 rounds every trip to the range and I like to try to go 1-2 times a month.

WallyWorld up in the Panhandle seems well stocked (this was not the case just a few months ago). If you haven't looked already, you might check: http://georgia-arms.com/index.aspx for mail order.

Maybe time to take up reloading....

Thanks I'll check them out...

I thought about reloading, the thing with that is most of the ranges around me won't let you use reloads not really sure why.

Even if Icould find someone that reloaded I'd pay them if it ment I could save some money.

The cost of reloading equipment from what I understand would be a while before I started getting any benifits. Also I don't really have a room/area I could reload.

I prefer American Eagle but I'll buy PMC Bronze if I can't get American Eagle. Both are about $20 a box of 50 after tax, not cheap.

Edit: I buy mine at my local Big R. That's the great thing about .40, it's popular enough to be on the shelf but not so popular it's sold out.

I'm looking for anything at $0.30 or less a round shipped with tax under that I feel is a good deal anything over it's how much it is just about anywhere.

Might start buying re-manufactured but I've found even with that once they ship it it's over .30 a round.

Not to point out the obvious, but the $29.95/100 is just slightly less then $0.30 per round. Might need to check back to see when they'll get some in?

Wal-Mart here had WWB 100/cnt boxes for the same price, and Federal 180 fmj .40S&W ammo right above it for $13.99/50. I saw it when I got a Az dove stamp today, and that's about as cheap as I've seen.

The local gunshop wants $30 for a 50/cnt box of Rem/UMC 180 gr FMJ. Obviously, I don't buy it.

at $13.99 I'd buy all they had. Yes $29.95 comes out to $0.2995 a round

Total B.S.

They can not come close to the WM price. I am sure they would sell it to you if they had it. Send this Information to Winchester with the shops name and watch how fast they are sued out of business.

I use 180gr Federal from WallyWorld at $14/50. They also have WWB but at $30/100 and it's 165gr. My carry ammo is 180gr so I want to same in my practive ammo.
