Can I convert my G30SF to 10mm by swapping the barrel and buying G29 Mags? Is the G29 barrel the same whether SF or not? Any other issues or concerns?

It can be done with just a barrel and mag swap....but if you're going to shoot a bunch in this configuration, I would just get a new upper as well. Before I bit the bullet and got a g20 I was just shooting 10mm through a lone wolf g20 barrel in a g21 slide. It was tearing the crap out of my brass, but not sure if it was the 17" spring, I was running at the time, or the g21 slide.

Desertscout covered this quite a bit on the "General Glocking" forum. He even has a couple of videos.

Don't remember what page of the thread has the vid links.

Thanks for the link to that thread, "PBRLite." After going through it, and even though I've got an aftermarket KKM barrel in my G24....I think I'll pass on the idea of converting my G21SF, and just put a new G20SF on my wish list.....

The breech face and extractors are different between the .45ACP and 10mm Glocks. Therefore, mauling of the brass will be an issue if you reload. I'd recommend buying a G29SF outright before trying to piece together a complete 10mm top end. However, if you don't care about your brass -- and aren't really concerned about 100% reliability (for self defense, etc.) -- drop an aftermarket barrel in and a G29 or G20 magazine and have fun blasting away!
