I pulled the string on a new P226 today for a great price. I had a P226 that I carried from 1987 to 1996 and then I carried a P220 until 2003. The P226 was mine and when the department issued us guns, I got the P220. I traded the P226 in on another gun and regretted it.
But now I will be back in the Sig House again. I have Glocks and HKs, but I wanted an all metal gun again. It should be here next week.

schweet. What caliber? I had/have one of the DAK (DAO) models in .40 that I was really impressed with
Congrats on the new 226 ..... they are one of the nicest Sigs made, in my opinion ... :perfect10:
Welcome back to the family, I love my 226 e2.

It is a 9mm and is just the standard run of the mill P226.
I plan on using it for shooting steel and IDPA so I didn't really need night sights.
I got it brand new, ordering from the factory (by my dealer) for less than $600.
And no, I'm not telling where.
I hope the 2 weeks passes pretty quickly.

You just can't beat the look of a Sig pistol.
I don't know why I traded my original P226 in the first place. I have an HK USP.45F that shoots like a dream, and I have Glocks that I shoot matches with, but you can't beat an all steel gun for the "heft" of one over any polymer pistol.
Pretty sure that a 229 e2 will be my next purchase.

I handled one of those in the shop and those are great feeling guns.

I've picked up a 226 e2 in .40 then converted it to 357 SIG and absolutely love the feel of it, handled the 229 as well but they didn't have it in .40 in stock at the shop when I was there.
Congrats and welcome back to Sigs .

Bought a Sig recently myself.
I went with an all stainless-frame and slide.
It's a solid gun that shoots very well.

Especially if you get rid of the tac rail.

Back in the summer, I was in a gun store out of state and I saw a NIB P226 without the rails that had been in the back behind or under something, new-old stock, that was sold right in front of me for $500.

I always wondered how a Sig 911 would handle, but never knew anybody with one.

Nice looking pistol Cobra! Removing rail and refinish look great!

Thanks backbore. I wanted it to be a simple German SL not a tacticool, "operator's" gun.
The trigger work done is another story.

I just went and looked up what an "SL" is. Never heard of one before. I'm an old man and learning stuff every day, lol. Love it. For those interested, here's a link.
