Prairie dog hunting in Colorado in January

Okay GT's here is the situation: around the first of January I will be in Breckenridge, CO on a ski trip. A few of my buddies and I are driving out from Kentucky and were thinking of leaving a few days early and doing a little Prairie dog hunting.

Now I know its winter but I was wondering if there is any prairie dog towns in CO, or Kansas (will be driving through) that wont be covered in snow. Or another way to ask the question is; has anyone shot dogs in January in Kansas or Colorado?

If not prairie dogs then anything else we could shoot on our way out there:cool:?

I think that's sorta late. I think. IIRC, the season north of there (MT, SD, WY) is spring-to-summer.

Coyotes or pheasants. Check non resident regs for licenses on the coyotes, pheasant you'll surely need to buy a license.
