I have been playing around with loading a few rounds very long. At around 1.39 with the 200gr XTP i am .01 off the throat. but i tested it with 800x and beleve that the powder does not like this loading. i think its because im getting a spike in pressure because of the increased case capacity and more powder. i think i need to drop to a slower powder and then re work up. I'm thinking something like Lil'Gun as it seams that it works amazing in the 357mag. does any one have any sajestions on powder

I have also been thinking about using VV110 as it seams to be just a tad bit slower then AA#9 and faster then Lil'Gun

I don't know about loading them that long, but maybe try Alliant Steel. I'm working on a load with Steel for my 200gr WFNGC's @ 1.26-1.27. It looks like it's also between AA#9 and Lil'Gun, and MCNETT posted some data for it a while back in the Alliant sticky.

How much case tension can there really be with .15" less bullet friction/contact within the case?

Once you adjust your load to the new 'improved' case volume, and the bullet suffers .25" of setback...well, I recommend some gloves.... and perhaps a welding mask....

Unless of course you are using the 610 revolver....at least then you needn't worry about setback.... :)

I been loading pretty hot 180gr loads with BD and AA # 9, all are loaded to 1.260. G20 stock barrel. Accuracy is VERY good NO feed problems at all.

I will say the faster I pushed the AA # 9 the worse the spreads got. I had to back off to 13.5grs AA# 9 to get the groups tight. AM barrel I have not tried yet with these. Just saying I never have had much luck loading longer than 1.260 (personally).

I been using the Cast Performance 200gr WFNGC for a veeeerrrry long time in OEM barrel, and 10.5/10.7gr BD (i won't share how far I really go with it to cover my six here) ;) and 1.260. I have got great accuracy out at 100yds.

Have fun with it and sgood shooting.
