View Full Version : G36 magazine difference?

Hey guys,

Anyone know the difference between the two types of G36 mags out there? I've been able to find two part numbers, MF36006 and MF36106. Unfortunately, I am unable to find ANY information on the difference between the two. I want to order an extra mag or two for the range, but I want to buy the better version and have no clue which that is. Anyone know?

Yeah, and there's absolutely no information out there that explains the difference between the two. And to make matters worse, I can't tell which version I have with my G36. :(

I also attempted to conduct some research on this without much luck. I might assume that the two part numbers refer to an older and newer version of the G36 magazine. I know they had some problems w/ earlier mag followers - I purchased a used mag, and had to update the follower. I would feel safe in ordering a current model magazine from any reputable firm: Glockmeister, Lone Wolf, etc. Good Luck

If one of them should turn out to be a 5-round mag that doesn't extend below the grip, please do let us know!

I'm just going to call Glock tomorrow to see if I can get to the bottom of this. My curiosity is getting the better of me.

I finally had a chance to contact Glock this morning to inquire about this. After they did some searching around for me, they came back and said that the two part numbers are for the same exact magazine, and that the MF36106 is the part number for magazines purchased directly through them and that they can only sell them to military/LE. She did state that the two magazines are exactly the same, however. Strange, but I guess it doesn't matter which part you order. Bud's Gun Shop shows both parts for sale for the same price. MidwayUSA shows the MF36006 number. I guess I'll just find the cheapest ones I can find and buy 'em, regardless of the P/N!

Thanks for clearing that up, Jose.

No wonder military/LE think they are special. They get their own part number. LOL
