Now that I have my first AR, let's talk add-on's for my M&P-15OR flat top.
First, I need optics to go with my flip-up BUIS from MI. If I understand optics, I have a choice between 1x power reflexive sights or a scope with fixed or variable magnification. I don't see myself doing too much CQB, so a variable power scope may be the best for long range target shooting (up to 400 yds), hunting and varment control. I don't want to break the bank, so I'm looking in the sub-$200 range. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Second, I think I'm going to want a .22LR conversion. I probably don't want to spend a lot of money on a complete .22LR upper, so a BCG will work. Any suggestions on reliable .22LR conversion?
I know I can add other wiz-bang stuff, but what else would long-time AR owners recommend for the budget conscious owner?
